Meet Our Counselors

Ms. Knispel:

Welcome to Maple Creek Middle School! My name is Ms. Knispel and I have been a school counselor for the past 24 years. Prior to that, I worked as a Mental Health Counselor in the Fort Wayne area and I continue to hold active licenses in the areas of Marriage and Family Counseling and Mental Health Counseling. I enjoy being at Maple Creek and working with Middle School students. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching soccer, and reading. I look forward to working with you and your student here at Maple Creek. If you need to contact me, I am available at 260-338-0802, EXT. 7113 or by email at marlene.knispel@nacs.k12.in.us.

Mrs. Conner:

My name is Sara Conner and I’ve been working as a guidance counselor for Maple Creek for 9 years. I enjoy working with middle school kids and helping them to navigate through these fun, challenging, and growing years! It is amazing to see the growth these students make in maturity, insight, and even height by the time they are leaving our doors for high school. We are here to help with any academic, personal, social, or emotional needs which could include schedules, grades, peer, or family struggles. I want your student to feel comfortable coming to guidance if they ever need help walking through a situation or conflict. Some background information about myself is that I have a husband and a 14 year old daughter. We enjoy being outside whether it is hiking, running, or watching our daughter play soccer. My husband and I are active in our church community by being youth group leaders to middle and high school students. My office door is always open and I promise I will do my best to work with any situation that arises. If I don't have the answer, I will continue to look and strategize as to how to best resolve the problem. I strongly believe in the quote from Thomas Edison, "I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." There is always an answer or solution, it just might take several attempts to reach it, but that is where growth comes in for a person. Please feel free to contact me anytime you have any questions or concerns at 338-0802 x7112 or you can email me at sara.conner@nacs.k12.in.us. I will do my best to respond in a timely manner. I look forward to meeting all the students and families of the Maple Creek Middle School community. I hope this is a great year for you guys and I'm excited to be on this journey with you!

Mrs. Goetz:

Welcome to Maple Creek! My name is Julie Goetz. I joined the Maple Creek team in 2021. Prior to that, I worked in higher education for 15 years. Middle school is such a time of transition as students begin the journey from child to young adult. It brings opportunites for personal, social and academic growth. I love connecting with students and learning about their interests and concerns. I look forward to working with teachers and families to make middle school a positive experience for every student. On a personal note, my husband, also a school counselor, and I have three grown children. I serve on the board of Pathfinder Services, am involved in our local church, enjoy spending time doing yoga, playing games and gardening. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at 260-338-0802, x7114 or julie.goetz@nacs.k12.in.us.
