Meet Our Counselors

Ms. Knispel:

Welcome to Maple Creek Middle School! My name is Ms. Knispel and I have been a school counselor for the past 24 years. Prior to that, I worked as a Mental Health Counselor in the Fort Wayne area and I continue to hold active licenses in the areas of Marriage and Family Counseling and Mental Health Counseling. I enjoy being at Maple Creek and working with Middle School students. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching soccer, and reading. I look forward to working with you and your student here at Maple Creek. If you need to contact me, I am available at 260-338-0802, EXT. 7113 or by email at

Maple Creek Middle School

Go Bobcats!

Welcome to Maple Creek Middle School! My name is Sara Conner and I'm one of the guidance counselors. Yes, that's right, if you are a "Terminator" fan, my name might sound familiar! My job and passion lies in working with students to help them become the best person they can be. I am excited to help students with schedules, both planning &fixing any glitches, verbalizing and appropriately expressing any emotions they may be experiencing, and working through any peer or family issues that may arise. I feel it is important to take care of the whole self, which encompasses the academic, personal, social, and emotional aspects of a person. My goal is to be able to learn names and put them with faces as I feel it is important for students to feel like they have a safe and friendly place to go if they ever need help or have questions.

Here's a little bit about myself, so you guys can get to know me better. I am a graduate from the NACS Corporation, graduating from Carroll High School in2000. I completed my undergraduate in Psychology from the University of Saint Francis and obtained my masters in School Counseling from IPFW, my degree is from the IU side, which makes me happy because I'm a big IU HOOSIERS fan (Sorry Purdue fans, I do root for Big Ten when they aren't playing IU though). I have been working in the NACS district for several years as a paraprofessional inthe special education classrooms from Preschool to 5th grade. I've worked at Arcola Elementary, Eel River Elementary, and Cedar Canyon Elementary,so perhaps some of you may have seen my face around. I'm excited to add Maple Creek Middle School into my family. As a new year begins, I'm excited to continue to grow and learn right alongside of the students. You are never too old to learn new things! I love working with children because it is so rewarding to see students succeed and grow into independent young individuals. Outside of the office, I spend my time with my 7 year old daughter playing, reading, and riding bikes. My husband's name is Doug and we enjoy playing disc golf together and serving at church.

My office door is always open and I promise I will do my best to work with any situation that arises. If I don't have the answer, I will continue to look and strategize as to how to best resolve the problem. I strongly believe in the quote from Thomas Edison, "I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." There is always an answer or solution, it just might take several attempts to reach it, but that is where growth comes in for a person. Please feel free to contact me anytime you have any questions or concerns at 338-0802 x7112 or you can email me at I will do my best to respond in a timely manner. I look forward to meeting all the students and families of the Maple Creek Middle School community. I hope this is a great year for you guys and I'm excited to be on this journey with you!
